I had spent the past few years studying the Bible and reading exceptional commentaries and expository writings ... I discovered that Wesley and Lloyd-Jones¡¯ view on soteriology in The Sermon is not just one out of many possible interpretations; it is thoroughly biblical and exactly what the Bible is trying to say.

In order to prepare for this Sermon on the Mount series, I spent roughly a month solely focusing on research and reading many books. Through this process, I was able to find out that many scholars agree with the aforementioned viewpoint. Thus, The Sermon is not merely the most exemplary sermon. It is infinitely valuable and important, for it shows the whole kingdom gospel and the core truth that Jesus taught.

From this point on, I will be discussing The Sermon with a heart of trepidation and excited anticipation, for it is the most outstanding and important sermon in the history of mankind. I plan to focus on the following three points.

1. I will mainly focus on the original meaning of the Sermon on the Mount.
2. I will focus on the soteriology that is revealed in the Sermon on the Mount.
3. I will focus on the genuine transformation of you and me.

For I knew that if I properly wrote on the meaning of The Sermon that many would see their true selves and would deeply repent. It would be impossible to vaguely reflect on oneself and live in delusions. You would not be able to help but become someone who trembles in fear in front of the Word. You would be able to know in detail what you have been doing wrong, what you need to repent, and what you need to be careful of.

I hope that with each chapter you all will be able to see your true state under the light of the Word, be deeply pierced by the double-edged sword of the Word, and be completely broken and crushed by the hammer of the Word.
