ENGLISH FOR HOTEL SERVICES is an English course for hotel employees as well as hotel guests. This book is designed for learners to practice English in valet service, check-in, housekeeping, room service, food and beverage service, bar service, and check-out circumstances.
The book employs exercises and activities for the development of reading, listening and speaking skills based upon task-based and learner-centered education. It encourages learners¡¯ motivation, interaction and participation. The syllabus contains 19 units. Most of the units are composed of three parts: Reading, Listening, and Speaking. Some units include Authentic Materials.
The Reading section is composed of vocabulary, informative text and reading comprehension. This is to enable learners to improve reading comprehension skills as well as to be able to identify specific subject information.
In the Listening and Speaking section, learners are invited to participate in warm-up exercises for key expressions and listening comprehension tasks, using subject-related dialogs. In addition, speaking activities focus on interactive practice which can be applied to real conversational situations.
Upon completion of this course the student will have a strong understanding of English usage within the hotel industry.
