So Kang-suk(Senior Pastor of SaeEdenChurch)
A Letter of Recommendation

What is this paradoxical book title we are talking about? Pastor, Evangelism Is So Easy. Even though I minister to forty thousand people, it is unimaginable for me to say evangelism is easy. I have done evangelism with great fervor, but I cannot understand easy evangelism at all. It is true I did more evangelism, including street evangelism with a bullhorn, than anyone while I was attending seminary. Still, saying that evangelism is easy is a paradox of paradoxes.

However, Pastor Son can say that. He is an evangelist who exceeds me. Had he done ministry in a new city in Bundang or in the capital or its neighboring cities, his ministry would have become greater. Just as a gangster knows physical power when he is hit with a fist, and just as a writer knows his writing ability when he reads a person¡¯s writing, I could sense his evangelism prowess. He is a great evangelist God sent to the Korean church. Rather, God sent him to the global church.

While I was reading this book, I too understood again that evangelism is easy. It is difficult when I try to do it myself, but evangelism becomes easy when I do it with the call of God. This book is like an evangelism textbook that contains everything about evangelism. Not only does he do evangelism easily, but he also enjoys it. He planted a church in a factory district, which is considered a challenging place for evangelism and ministry, and saw his church grow to about five thousand members, and his congregation is currently building a large church building.

His church did not grow through transfer growth. It grew purely through evangelizing unbelievers. His book, which contains his evangelism passion and know-how, as sold the most copies amongst all evangelism books in Korea. Is it not something to celebrate that this precious book is now being translated into English, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages, and published around the world?

I hope that this book will be used not simply as a castle builder that would bring growth to a church, but as a kingdom builder for the kingdom of God and the city of God. I expect that second, third, and fourth Son Hyun-bos would emerge as this book is distributed to the entire world and read by more people.

Church members at first said that one hundred people couldn¡¯t gather because there were not enough seats for that many people. Now they are saying that three hundred members is impossible because the total number of locals is less than that. When I listen to them, what they¡¯re saying makes sense. However, I had no choice but to believe in something else that was surer than the words I was hearing or the reality I was seeing. When we nurture our dreams, it is God who makes them come true. That¡¯s why I didn¡¯t blame the surroundings, nor did I put a limit on my dream.
If you listen to what they say, they sound reasonable. However, there¡¯s no limit for those who believe. Where did John the Baptist preach the gospel? It was in the wilderness, a place where not many people live. But when he preached the gospel there, numerous people who came from Bethlehem and Jerusalem were baptized. I thought to myself, ¡°If what¡¯s written in the Bible is true, I shouldn¡¯t be discouraged to the point where I give up.¡±
Thus, I took yet another step and made the following announcement, ¡°We¡¯ll have a Pack-a-Pew Sunday in one month. Our goal for that Sunday is one thousand people. Let us depend on God with whom nothing is impossible and pray to Him, instead of limiting our dream by looking at the circumstances we¡¯re in.¡±-p. 45-

Even though one can bring a nonbeliever to the church, it is not easy for him to settle down in the church. However, if a relationship is formed with the pastor, many people believe through the Word and receive baptism. Remember! There is no one who believes after knowing everything about Jesus. Because faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of Christ, the Holy Spirit works where the Word of God is preached. Therefore, make a good impression of the pastor when witnessing so that the door of the heart of the person needing witnessing will not close. -p. 177-
