Preface
Korea Legislation Research Institute (“KLRI”) is the secretariat of Asia Legal Information Network (“ALIN”), a platform for member legal research institutes to share thoughts and knowledges on each country’s law. As the secretariat of ALIN, KLRI has been in charge of the operations and the maintenance of the activities of ALIN. Being the president of KLRI, it has been my great pleasure observing ALIN grow for the past couple of years. We celebrated the 10th Anniversary of ALIN in 2014, and there have been numerous articles and reports presented at conferences and expert forums held by ALIN. We thought that it will be a loss letting those articles vanish as no subsequent publication procedures were taken place after each conference and forum was held, despite that many articles contained contentious issues that were spotlighted when presented. Hence the compilation of the articles and reports of importance and publishing the compilation into a book titled as “Current Legal Issues in Asian Countries” took place to preserve and utilize what ALIN has accomplished until 2014.
Each and every author of the articles in this publication made a meaningful contribution to introducing and sharing of hot topics in the legal field from each Asian country, and I would like to show my heartfelt gratitude towards the authors and their institutes actively participating to ALIN activities. I am also grateful for all of those who worked on this book project from selection of articles through the printing stage. Thank you.
