¡°The Story of P.C.,¡± a narrative of the transformation of creative works and the end of fiction brought on by controversies over literature and political correctness, brings us to the questions: What is fiction? And how do life and fiction differ or not differ? This short story retorts by arguing that fiction can come close to life, but cannot be it, and that the ¡°flaws¡± in fiction, which are the gap between fiction and life, lead people to examine the flaws in life. ¡°The Story of P.C.¡± redefines fiction and delves into the possible methodology for broadening the range of fiction. At the same time, it shows that fiction is a process and an outcome of the cultural limitations and spirit of the time expressed through the reading public.
