Jeffrey F. Jaffe has been a frequent contributor to finance and economic literature in such journals as the Quarterly Economic Journal, The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, The Journal of Financial Economics, and The Financial Analysts Journal . His best-known work concerns insider trading, where he showed both that corporate insiders earn abnormal profits from their trades and that regulation has little effect on these profits. He has also made contributions concerning initial public offerings, the regulation of utilities, the behavior of market makers, the fluctuation of gold prices, the theoretical effect of inflation on the interest rate, the empirical effect of inflation on capital asset prices, the relationship between small-capitalization stocks and the January effect, and the capital structure decision.

이화여자대학교 경영대학 재무전공 교수이다. 연세대학교에서 경영학 학사 및 석 사, 위스콘신 대학교(University of Wisconsin-Madison)에서 재무금융 석사학위를 받고, 뉴욕 주립 대학교(SUNY-Buffalo)에서 재무금융 박사학위를 취득한 후에 자본시장연구원에서 연구 위원으로 재직하였다. 주요 연구 분야는 기업재무, 투자론 및 행태재무학(Behavioral Finance) 이며 Journal of Finance, Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies를 비롯한 국내외 학회지에 다 수의 논문을 게재하였다. 국내외 저널의 편집위원 및 재무관리연구의 편집위원장을 역임했으며, 증권학회지의 편집위원장, 한국증권학회, 한국재무학회, 한국재무관리학회, 파생상품학회 이사 및 금융위원회 회계제도심의위원회 위원, 국민연금 투자정책전문위원, 한국거래소 코스닥시장 기업심사 위원으로 활동하고 있다.

이화여자대학교 경영대학의 재무전공 교수이다. 고려대학교 경영학과를 졸업하 고, 미국 로체스터 대학교(University of Rochester)에서 경영학석사(MBA) 학위를 취득한 후 삼성생명에서 근무한 후, 미시건 대학교(University of Michigan)에서 통계학 석사학위를, 뉴 욕주립 대학교(SUNY-Buffalo)에서 재무금융 전공으로 박사학위를 취득하였다. 주요 연구 분 야는 미시구조(Market Microstructure), 신용평가(Credit Ratings) 및 펀드 등이며 Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies 등의 외국저널과 증권학회 지, 재무연구, 재무관리연구 등 국내저널에 다수의 연구논문을 게재하였다. 한국증권학회 간사, 금융공학 연구지의 편집위원 및 법무법인 광장과 공기업 기금자산관리 자문교수, 재무관리연구 편집위원장으로 활동 중이다.
