♣ 활동2-3 참새우 양식장 <만화 읽고 토론하기>
Instruction
1. Read the cartoon “°The Tiger Prawn Farm”± together. Assist students with any difficult vocabulary or concepts.
2. Ask questions that assist the students in understanding the cartoon; sample questions and answers are provided below. Have the students show you the picture that relates to your question.
1) Where are mangrove swamps located? What are the characteristics of mangrove forests?
- They are located between the land and the coast. They protect coastal villages from wind and waves, and it is a safe place for small fish. (See pictures 1, 2, and 3.)
2) How had the people in the coastal villages lived before the mangrove swamps were destroyed?
- They lived a simple life working the land. They also gathered a lot of fish from the coast, probably including tiger prawns. (See pictures 3 and 4.)…?..p36


♣활동 4-2 펨바는 어떻게 해야 할까요? <상황극 만들기>

When Pemba was seven years old, an uncle took her by the hand and led her to a house in Kathmandu where she became a domestic servant. After he left, she never saw that uncle again. For nearly seven years she has been working as a maid in her employer’s house doing laundry and cleaning every day. Now, Pemba is thirteen years old. Occasionally, she asks her employer about her mother, father, brothers and sisters.
He always says that her parents died and that she does not have any brothers or sisters. Pemba has never received any pay for her work and she is often beaten by her employer and his family. She is also blamed for any lost items in the house.
If someone gives her a present, the employer’s family accuses her of having bought it with stolen money. Occasionally, a man she does not know comes to the house and touches her body, but her employer never takes any action to stop the man from doing this. Pemba cries and shakes with fear whenever she is touched by this man....p59

사람들은 돈을 많이 벌려고 할 때, 그 일이 자연을 해치는 일인지 잘 생각하지 않는다. 때로는 자연을 해치게 될 것을 알지만 돈을 벌기 위해서는 어쩔 수 없는 일이라고 생각한다. 하지만 시간이 흐르면 자연을 해치는 일이 결국에는 사람을 해치는 일이 되는 것을 알게 된다. 자연을 해하는 노동은 사람을 불행하게 한다.

아이들이 아름답게 성장하기 위해서는 무엇이 필요할까?

『세계 어린이 시민 교육 시리즈』는 자기를 긍정하고 다른 사람을 사랑하며, 공동체에 대한 이해와 책임감을 가진 사람으로 자라도록 돕는 아동 교육 교재이다. <행복한 노동자가 될래요>는 총 6권의 시리즈 중 제2권으로 노동을 주제로 하고 있다. 아이들은 이 책을 통해 사람과 자연을 행복하게 하는 노동이 어떤 노동인지를 이야기 듣기, 쓰기, 연극하기, 노래하기, 만들기, 그리기 등 활동을 직접하며 아동들이 즐겁고 통합적으로 사고하며 상상하면서 자연스럽게 깨닫도록 구성했다.

2권의 제1과는 여러 노동을 통해 이루어진 세상에 대해 인식하는 “노동으로 이루어진 세상”이다. 제2과 “왜 노동이 힘들고 괴로운 걸까?”는 우리들의 과도한 욕심이 자연뿐 아니라 노동하는 사람을 슬프게 할 수 있다는 것을 생각하게하며, 제3과 “우리 모두를 행복하게 하는 노동은 어떤 것일까?”와 제4과 “정의를 세우는 노동”에서는 좋은 노동이 어떤 것인지 살펴봄으로써 행복한 노동자가 되는 법을 경험하도록 구성하였다.

바보들꽃 ?세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는 어떤 책인가?

14년 동안 네팔 어린이 교육지원 활동을 해왔던 바보들꽃(비영리단체)은 7년 동안의 연구와 시범 수업을 거쳐 세계 여러 나라의 아동청소년에게 꼭 필요한 여섯 권의 시민교육 시리즈를 발간하였다.

자아상, 타인, 노동, 공동체, 자연 환경 등 ‘더불어 사는 삶’을 배울 수 있도록 총 여섯 권으로 구성하였습니다.
* 제1권 ‘자아상편’ <나는 아름다운 사람입니다>는 사람은 모두 사랑받고 사랑하기 위해 태어난 존재라는 것을 배운다.
* 제2권 ‘노동편‘ <행복한 노동자가 될래요>는 타인과 더불어 사는 방법으로서 직업과 노동을 새롭게 바라보게 한다.
* 제3권 <우리는 서로 이어져 있어요> 제4권<서로 돕는 마을을 만들어요>는 ‘공동체편’으로 지역사회공동체와 더불어 사는 방법을 생각해보도록 한다.
* 제5권 ‘타인편’ <대접받고 싶은 대로 대접해요>은 타인을 차별하지 않고 더불어 사는 방법을 배운다.
* 제6권 ‘자연과 사람편’ <자연이 살아야 사람이 살지요>는 자연과 더불어 사는 방법이 어떤 것인지 생각해보도록 한다.

바보들꽃-세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는 모든 아이들과 어른이 함께 배울 수 있는 책이다.
자기 존재를 자각하는 10대 초반의 어린이들을 위해 만들었으나 교사나 학부모가 전 학년의 초등학교 아이들과 함께 생각하며 배울 수 있다. 또한 방과 후 학교, 대안교육, 홈스쿨링 교재로 다양하게 활용 가능하다.

바보들꽃-세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는, 참다운 인간으로의 길을 안내하는 참다운 시민 교육 시리즈다.
내가 누구인지, 어떤 노동을 하며, 어떻게 타인과 더불어 살아야 하는지 근본적으로 질문하도록 한다.

바보들꽃-세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는 ‘더불어 사는 삶’이 무엇인지 구체적으로 경험할 수 있도록 구성하였다.
단순히 ‘더불어 사는 삶이 좋은 삶이다’라는 추상적인 접근이 아니라, 자아상, 타인, 노동, 공동체, 자연 환경 등 총체적이고 구체적인 접근을 하고 있는 것이 이 교재의 특징이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 다양한 사례를 통해 생활에 바로 적용할 수 있도록 구성하였다.

바보들꽃-세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는, 요즘 아이들에게 적합한 창의적 교수방법을 제공한다.
주입식 교육이 아닌, 아이들과 함께 질문하고 관련활동을 하면서 핵심 주제에 대한 답을 찾아가는 방식으로 구성하였다.
이야기 듣기, 쓰기, 만들기, 연극하기, 노래하기, 그리기 등 오감을 활용한 통합적 교수법으로 구성하였다. 또한 지도교사들을 위해 자세한 가이드라인과 바로 사용할 수 있는 ALL COLOR교재를 제공한다.

바보들꽃-세계 어린이 시민교육 시리즈는, 세계 모든 아이들을 위한 시민교육 교재이다.
우리 문화와 우리 사회에 머무르지 않고 아시아 국가의 아이들 주변에서 일어나는 다양한 이야기를 담았다 우리 아이들이 국경과 문화를 넘은 세상, 인류 공동체를 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다
