뉴욕타임스, 퍼블리셔스 위클리 베스트셀러 작가인 줄리아 퀸은 진로에 대한 고민을 하던 중 읽게 된 로맨스 소설로 인해 작가가 되었다. 1995년에 데뷔작인 『애쉬번 공작, 1816』를 선보인 이후로 지금까지 십여 권의 책을 발표하였다. 줄리아 퀸은 로맨스 소설을 집필하면서 틈틈이 요가에 시간을 투자하며, 거대한 호박을 재배하는 취미를 갖고 있다. 그녀는 하버드와 래드클리프 대학을 졸업하였으며, 가족들과 함께 퍼시픽 노스웨스트 지역에 거주하고 있다.
