Big English just got bigger!

Designed for achieving results, Big English 2nd Edition (American English) delivers comprehensive English language acquisition alongside CLIL and broader life skills, supported by unique online digital teacher and student resources.
The 2nd Edition features improved digital tools, clearer designs for students and mapping to the Global Scale of English.

What are the key features and updates for Big English 2nd Edition

1) Pearson English Framework
New online component for teachers and students. It provides all the resources for teachers in one place including: teacher presentation tools; interactive classroom activities, grade book (in 2018) and the new BIG TV video component. Students also have their own ‘world’ where they can find homework activities

2) CLIL
New Content and culture connection pages to ensure that the content relates to the learners and reflects their interests. We have also added more support to some of the reading texts with additional vocab boxes.

3) Assessment for learning
A refreshed approach to AfL with students and teachers given plenty of opportunities to review their progress in both the SB and the WB

4) Global Scale of English (GSE)
End of unit I can statements directly relate to the vocabulary, Grammar and skill descriptors within the GSE. They appear in the review sections of the SB and are also highlighted in the Teacher book openers.

5) Starter units
New content to bridge any gaps between the levels. They serve as a quick review to the previous level and give the pupils the foundations and confidence to start the next level.

6) Design and visual
Big English 2 has a fresh new look with a simplified design which helps learners to focus on content and the activities. Plus we have great new signposting to help teachers really get the most of all the Big components and aid them in the use of the digital and the print.
