Even though Max wants to experiment with the kit's contents, the girls insist that he be their first customer. Once their games shift away from him, the young rabbit transforms his look in his own way-ending up green with blue and orange feet. And when Grandma calls, she makes an appointment with him for a colorful makeover as well. Young readers will be able to relate to the make-believe games, but the story is not as humorous or memorable as Wells's earlier titles. 1943년 미국 뉴욕 시에서 태어났다. 결혼과 출산 이후 본격적으로 그림책 작가의 길로 들어섰으며, 두 딸의 아옹다옹 지내는 모습을 보고 '맥스랑 루비랑' 시리즈를 그리기 시작했다. 글과 그림을 함께 작업하는 방식으로 30년 동안 약 60여 권의 작품을 만들었다.
