* This is my son’s review for ’The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel #2: The Magician.’

     This story takes place in Paris, France. Mars is a very important character in this story. He is one of the first generation elders. He is one of the elders that can awaken people’s powers. He is neutral in the war between humans and elders. He is known as Ares, god of war.

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning of the story, the main characters meet Nicholas Hamel's apprentice on Paris called Saint Germain. Then, they find out that he is married to Joan of Ark. Then, Saint Germain teaches Sophie, the magic of fire. Meanwhile, Josh gets kidnapped by a bad guy and gets his powers awakened by Mars Ulter, a first generation elder. Next, Sophie comes and rescues Hosh and goes back to Nicholas. In the end, Nicholas tells them Gilgamesh the king is the only one who can teach them water magic.

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     It’s ’5.’  I would recommend this book because one of the main characters is from history.
