Does it matter what kind of background a person has? Why should anyone care if someone else was a born of a prostitute and was raised in the redlight district?

It seems people do care. A lot. Kai is a highly talented pianist, a prodigy. His playing can be persuasive, touching, refreshing... whatever he wants his audience to feel. Such skill, such talent seem to be at loss when those narrow-minded people decide that the origin of his birth matters a lot more than what kind of person he is and what kind of person he can be.

Even Amamia, whom Kai considers a very close friend, turns against him when he realises that Kai is a far better pianist than he is. Although he makes up for his harsh and hurtful words later on, he hurts Kai and stabs his back when Kai most needs supports from his friends.

Why, why should care so much for someone's background? And who gives us the right to undermind and hurt those whose have already been through a difficult path? Humans, they can be so cruel.
