추리소설을 좋아하는 사람이라면 누구나 애거서 크리스티의 작품은 읽어보았을 것이다. 나 또한 애거서 크리스티의 추리소설 번역본을 전부 읽을 정도로 애독자이므로...
추리소설이 너무 좋아서.. 그래서 구입하게 된 이 책은 생각보다 어렵다.
역시 번역본을 읽는 것처럼 진도가 빨리 나가진 않는다.
어휘도 생각보다 어려워 마음만큼 읽어지지 않는 것이다.
일단 그래도 인내심을 가지고 읽기 시작하면 역시 추리의 세계로 빠져든다.
가벼운 페이퍼백과 인터파크의 빠른 배송은 항상 나를 기분좋게 만든다.
1945년작,, 영화 그리고 아무도 없었다를 보면 이 소설을 재미있게 볼 수 도 있지만 뭐니뭐니해도 책으로 추리를 해가며 읽는 것보다 더한 재미는 없는 것 같다.
낯선 섬으로 초대된 사람들.. 그리고 그 속에서 노래에 따라 일어나는 사건들.. 무서우면서도 꽤 재미있었다.

무엇보다 이 책에 나온 노래는 책을 다 읽고나서도 약간 으스스한 느낌이 든다. 밤에 읽다간 정말 무서워질 것 같아 낮에만 읽었던............
이미 번역된 책을 읽었지만 워낙 오래되서 실제로는 그냥 원서를 읽는 것이었다. 이 책을 온전히 이해하면서 읽고 싶다면 번역서를 읽고 비교하는 것도 좋은 방법이라 생각한다.
