When I realized that this book was the abridged version, I really happened to cry. Even though I put the tick for this book on the site, I never dreamt that this is thin for Engligh learners.

Hmm.. I should buy the another UNabridged one sooner or later.

It was quite interesting. It was the story about 4 Chinese moms who moved to America for better lives and also about 4 Chinese-American daughters who were just like American.

I could imagine how deep the gorge would be between the moms and their daughters. That's because not only the generation gap between them, but also the huge cultural differences. The mom didn't understand her daughter's asking of calling in advance for a visit. Also she couldn't accept the boyfriend of her daughter's when he agreed on her when she said st just for humble as Chinese do as usual.

Though they've built an invisible wall between them, they could become to symphatize each other slightly and slowly.

It makes me think about my mom also who was always proud of her daughter like the one of the mom did. She said, "She is my daughter and I am proud of her, and I am her mother but she is not proud of me."
