케이트 그리너웨이 상은 영국의 화가 겸 그림책 작가인 케이트 그리너웨이를 기념하기 위해

1955년에 영국 도서관 협회가 창설한 상으로,

칼데콧 상과 더불어 매년 영국을 대표하는 그림책을 선정함으로서

전 세계적으로 그 권위를 인정받고 있습니다.

영국을 대표하는 상인만큼 오랜 기간 동안

다방면의 심사와 논의를 거쳐 수상작이 결정되는데요.

☞ 첫 걸음은 2012년 11월 경.

60종에 가까운 longlist 후보 발표에서 시작되었습니다.

후보작에 너무나도 유명한 앤서니 브라운의 <기분을 말해봐>, 존 클라센의 <내 모자 어디 갔을까?>등이 보이네요.

엄청난 작품들과 경쟁하려니 가슴이 콩닥콩닥합니다.
